The mould and die community gathered at the 16th international Colloquium "Tool and Die Making with a Future" held in Aachen to network, be aware about the latest developments and listen to presentations about current industry topics, as well as innovative concepts and solutions in this business area.
Organized by Fraunhofer IPT and the WZL of RWTH Aachen University the event took place on October 26th and 27th, having renowned experts from industry and research institutions to discuss current challenges and developments in the industry.
Also, a panel dedicated to international business in tool making was organized with invited speakers coming from Germany, Portugal, South Africa and USA. Topics such as the lack of skilled workers and education, research and Industry 4.0 were discussed.
In parallel with presentations, attendees had the opportunity for networking and share ideas about the sector, its challenges and opportunities.
Next year's Colloquium was announced to be held on 22 and 23 November 2017, in Aachen.
