THOMAS SEUL AND BOB WILLIAMSON IN CONVERSATION IN THE LATEST ISSUE OF VDWF'S 'DIALOGUE' MAGAZINE

VDWF has recently released its 4th English issue of Dialogue Magazine in which Prof. Dr. Thomas Seul (President of the Association of German Tool and Mold Makers - VDWF) and Bob Williamson (Pesident of ISTMA World), shared their opinion on developing a new mindset within the toolmaking industry.

"ISTMA's members are spread across the entire world with countries such as Portugal, the US, Canada, South Africa, and China. That's quite remarkable. We do not always have the same ideas or solutions, and are often in competition, but our connection through our shared membership in ISTMA provides a place for collaborations and new solutions", started Thomas Seul, later adding that despite the differences it is important to respect all the relationships, which end up helping the tool making to become well rounded and comprehensive.

Bob Williamson shared what he considers to be the place to start: to be "more to the point and more open", assuring integrity. "Forthrightness, integrity, and being to the point. Integrity is something which I would like to see promoted nationally and internationally as a code we all abide by. This is something which has been spoken about at ISTMA", he stated. He also mentioned the intention to launch an international cross-referencing standard for the toolmaker's qualifications. "This is not to say that we are looking to create our own qualification process. Rather, we hope to set a standard for toolmaker's educational qualifications, distribute this standard internationally, and then endorse those countries which comply with the standard".
