CTMA IS BUILDING CAREERS AND EMPOWERING THE WORKFORCE WITH 'EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES' PROGRAM

The Canadian Tooling & Machining Association (CTMA) and its Career-Ready with CTMA: Expanding Opportunities program is supplying several high schools with high-quality equipment to help students learn and explore what a career in the tooling and manufacturing sector consists of.

"When starting a class, you have about 10 seconds to wow these kids", mentioned a teacher of one of the schools that have been benefiting from the installation and use of the equipments. "When kids are walking through my door and seeing these state-of-the-art machines, and seeing what they can do, that's the wow factor. This machinery has allowed me to take my teaching to the next level."

Thanks to the CTMA and funding they have offered through programs such as Career-Ready, students are being equipped with the tools they need to have successful careers.

"Having these tools and the ability to train our students on them allows them to get into the manufacturing world much quicker. It's allowing us to bridge the gab between the education and workplace sooner, because these kids are getting the chance to gain experience on these modern, cutting-edge machines before they graduate high school."
