The ISTMA member Toolmaking Association of South Africa (TASA), established in 2004 as a representative body for the South African tool, die and mouldmaking industry, has decided to broaden its scope of activity being inclusive of other industrial branches in South Africa. The new name for the Association is PtSA - Production Technologies Association of South Africa.
TASA was established as a national body with representation from all provinces that have significant tool, die and mould making activities developing programmes and initiatives to develop local industry and attract and train a new generation of qualified technicians to the sector.
The recently formed Production Technologies Association of South Africa (PtSA) will continue this strategic orientation and broaden its activity to other industrial areas through a process of networking, partnerships and advocacy. Formal announcement of this change was made earlier this year.
