On October 29, the Canadian Tooling and Machining Association (CTMA) hosted its first-ever anual Annual General Meeting (AGM), gathering over 60 attendees online.
The event, in which Chris Hergott was welcomed as the association's new president, was also attended by the Canadian Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, and served to announce new members of the association.
The CTMA's Annual Apprentice Awards, however, were not possible to present during this virtual version of the AGM, as it usually happens, so the association had three representatives meeting the winners in person to congratulate them. These awards not only recognize these individuals, but also increase the awareness and value of skilled trades training, which contributes to an enhanced tooling and machining industry in Canada.
