Gauteng Provincial Government and TASA have invited ISTMA general manager to come to South Africa and to review locally the preparations and the program for next 2008 ISTMA AGM with the large professional team that is preparing the event. This was also an opportunity to meet with TASA officials, including TASA President, Bob Williamson (in the photo, close to the emblematic Mandela statue in Mandela Square, very close to the Convention Centre where meetings will happen).

TASA, the South Africa association, will host the 2008 ISTMA Annual Assembly, next 29th June / 2nd July, in Johannesburg. This is the first ISTMA meeting in an African country and Gauteng Provincial Government is sponsoring the event, including covering the local costs of the meeting. Air and hotel costs, as well as additional social program after the meetings, are the responsibility of each delegate.
Sandvik Coromant (www.coromant.sandvik.com) , a leading supplier of cutting tools for tooling industries operating in more than 60 countries, is joining the ISTMA Global Partner program. The announcement has been made in the Sandvik Coromant Die & Mould Application Centre, in Shanghai, during the 2008 Die and Mould China Exhibition. ISTMA general manager and Mr Per Forsell, manager of Application Management Die & Mould at AB Sandvik Coromant, made the announcement.
More than 25 delegates from ten different Asian countries attended the 2008 Annual General Meeting of ISTMA Asia / Fadma, chaired by Mr. N. Reguraj. The meeting was hosted by CDMIA, the China association, in Shanghai, last 11-13 May. Next AGM will be hosted by KODMIC, the Korea association, next March 2009, together with next Intermold Korea 2009.
Mr Cao Yanan has now retired from General Secretary of CDMIA China Die & Mould Industry Association, and became CDMIA Vice President.
CDMIA organized a very successful 12th Die & Mould Exhibition (www.diemouldchina.com), from to May 2008, with more than 1300 exhibitors and 70 thousand square meters of indoors area. More than one hundred thousand people visited the exhibition. ISTMA Asia / Fadma members had a relevant role in the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
Swissmem hosted last ISTMA Europe meeting in Switzerland, with a rich program of important visits to Swiss tooling companies.
Janez Poje, from Slovenia, has been confirmed as vice president of Europe branch.
Three visits to important companies in tooling business were included in the program. Presentations are available.
Fausto Romagnani, ISTMA Europe President, addressed the opening ceremony of Mould Eurasia / Kalip Avrasya 2008, in Istambul, last 19th April 2008. Both he and ISTMA general manager have made presentations in the seminar program of the exhibition.
Last 18th April 2008 Ukub organized a successful event with important Turkish actors in the tooling community, in the eve of the opening of Mould Eurasia Exhibition in Istambul.
USA tooling business community has met in Florida (St. Petersburg) last February (2nd to 6th) with a full program. NTMA made some of the presentations available through the Conference Hall of this website (click here for direct link).
ISTMA general manager has adressed the Convention (5th February) and he has also made a presentation in the Tools, Dies and Molds Roundtable (2nd February).
Uddeholm has organized the 7th Automotive Tooling Seminar, in Sune (Sweden), last 6th to 9th February 2008. Again the event was an opportunity discuss the latest news and findings within the automotive industry, as well as to see some special stages of the Uddeholm Swedish Rally, for the World Championship. ISTMA has contributed for the TDM (tools, dies and moulds) workshop.
Kenny Brack, the swedish driver that won the Year 1999 Indy 500 (USA, and the only european to have won the Indy 500 championship, and who later survived the most dramatic accident in Indy history, made a challenging presentation about leadership, career and high competition.
CDMIA, the Chinese association, has released a 24 minutes video about tooling industry in China: "Going Forward China Die & Mould Industry".
UKUB, the association from Turkey, promotes next Mould Eurasia / Kalip Avrasya 2008, in Istambul, next 19th to 22nd April 2008.
ISTMA ASIA / Fadma will meet in Shanghai, next 11st to 13rd May, during next 2008 Die & Mould China exhibition, promoted by CDMIA, the ISTMA Association from China.
ISTMA Americas has met during NTMA 2008 Convention in St. Petersburg (Florida).
