ISTMA EUROPE MEETING IN GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN

Representatives from 10 European countries (Sweden, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, Spain and Switzerland) were present in Gothenburg, Sweden, between November 29th and December 1st at the latest meeting of ISTMA Europe.

The chosen time and place for this meeting allowed to the participants to collaborate in the Conference Manufuture 2009 works – ­www.manufuture2009.eu, by using its synergies, which means not only contacts or the discussion of the issues presented, but also the organization.

 

Hosted by the SINF - Swedish Molding Tools and Press Association – the meeting was led by ISTMA Europe President, Fausto Romagnani, and the ongoing activities were reviewed at the European Tooling Association and its new projects and initiatives were presented and discussed, with particular reference to the International Conference ISTMA"Global Opportunities for Special Tooling and Machining Companies" which will take place between 20th and 24th of June 2010 in Windsor, Canada.

 

During this meeting, also special emphasis on the presentation by Joaquim Menezes about the European Tooling Platform (www.toolingplatform.manufuturenet.eu) which will give support to the ISTMA Europe effort on the promotion of the sector towards to a variety of official organizations, particularly the European Commission and the creation of opportunities for innovation and development for European Tooling companies through the promotion of RTD projects and initiatives.

 

The representatives of several National Associations had the opportunity to share information about current business conditions in different countries and regions.

 

The next ISTMA Europe meeting is already scheduled for March 29th and 30th in 2010, in Torun, Poland.
