ISTMA EUROPE MEETING IN TURKEY

Representatives from 11 European countries (Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey) gathered in Bursa - Turkey on the 7th and 8th of May at a meeting of the European branch of the International Special Tooling & Machining Association.

Hosted by UKUB – Turkish Member Association, the meeting was chaired by ISTMA Europe President, Fausto Romagnani, which reviewed the ongoing activities of the branch and discussed with members new collective activities and projects. The President also announced Poland as a new ISTMA Member.

Special relevance was given to the organization of II European Tooling Forum to be held on September 25^th in Milan, Italy.

During the meeting National Associations representatives had the chance to network, to visit Mould Eurasia exhibition and to share information about the present business conditions in the different European regions.

The “2007 ISTMA Statistics Year Book” was also presented to the European member Associations. This document gathers international trade information based on official statistics from ISTMA member countries. Production, exports and imports on moulds and dies are analysed in long time-series.

The meeting agenda included also visits to UKUB member companies based in the region of Bursa and Manisa.

The next ISTMA Europe meeting is already scheduled for 1st and 2nd of December 2009, in Gothenburg, Sweden.
