SECOND EDITION OF “2007 ISTMA STATISTICAL YEAR BOOK” ALREADY RELEASED

The success of “2007 ISTMA Statistical Year Book” is confirmed by the release of its second edition. This book includes statistical information about international trade and manufacturing on Tools, Dies and Moulds in 2007. In this edition, the Year Book uses extensive graphical presentation as a prevailing support. More than 550 figures on 239 pages (size A5) are accessible in order to fully describe product and country industrial tooling dynamics in long time-series – one decade – presentations.

The purpose of the work is to collect, treat, compute and release data concerning production, exports, imports and value unit indices (value / quantity) for the most important classes of products in the industry under analysis, namely:

  • dies for pressing, stamping, punching and forming;
  • injection and compression moulds;

The indicators are mostly based on international and national statistical data provided by independent sources and the countries covered in this edition are: Canada, China, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and USA.

Data in the 2007 ISTMA Statistical Year Bookwere collected and treated in three levels of currencies: National (whenever different from the following), USD and EUR and figures were organized in two levels:

1. Product level - Summaries

  • Part 1 – Comparison between the positions of different countries according to indicators applied:

Production: quantity, value and unit prices;

Exports: quantity, value and unit prices;

Imports: quantity, value and unit prices.

In the case of values and unit prices, these elements are presented in EUR and USD;

  • Part 2 – Comparison of aggregated values among products categories:

Dies;

Moulds for plastic and rubber;

Moulds for metal, injection and compression;

Moulds for metal, excluding injection and compression.

2. Country level – Detailed Data

Presentation of national indicators for each country in the sample and for each product category:

Production: quantity, value and unit prices;

Exports: quantity, value and unit prices;

Imports: quantity, value and unit prices.

In the case of values and unit prices, these elements are presented in EUR, in USD and in national currency terms.
