Join CTMA for a tour of The Canadian Historical Aircraft Association (CH2A) located in Windsor, ON. Their mission is to “honour Canadian veterans by preserving, maintaining, restoring, displaying, and demonstrating antique or vintage militar and civilian aircraft and artifacts considered important to Canadian aviation history”.
Marinha Grande, one of the two main centers for the Portuguese Mouldmaking Industry was the chosen location for the latest ISTMA Europe meeting, held in combination with the “Moulding Expo” 2017 International Press Conference. Both events took place on March 7 and 8, 2017, organized in close cooperation with CEFAMOL - the Portuguese National Association.
During its European meeting held in Marinha Grande (Portugal) on March 7 and 8, ISTMA celebrated the formal agreement with HRSflow to join its Global Partner Program. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Bob Williamson (ISTMA Board Director) and Alessandra Bosco (INglass Director of Business Development) and is valid for a two years’ period.
Under the Global Partners Program promoted by ISTMA, MAKINO (www.makino.com), one of the world leading company in machine tools solutions, had agreed to improve its cooperation and relationship within tooling industry.
The Canadian Tooling and Machining Association (CTMA) organizes a tour to MHI Canada Aerospace, Inc. located off Northwest Drive, in Mississauga. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) is a global company with a vast product range including aircraft, aircraft major assemblies, rocket launchers, ships, power generators, and industrial machinery.
The ISTMA Board of Directors meeting took place in Milan (Italy), on January 30 and 31, 2017, organized in close cooperation with UCISAP - the Italian National Association. Arranged to prepare the next world meeting and General Assembly in Brazil, this meeting was extended to a few guests with an historic knowledge of ISTMA invited to provide inputs to the strategy for the next period.
ISTMA Europe delegates will meet in Marinha Grande (Portugal) on March 7. The event precedes the international press conference to introduce the second edition of “Moulding Expo” show taking place next May in Stuttgart (Germany).

The World Conference of ISTMA – International Special Tooling & Machining Association, is an international event held every three years that brings together businessmen and technicians from the tooling industry chain to debate and define strategies to supply worldwide market, proposing innovation, best practices and business generation opportunities.
The 10th edition of the Conference “ICIT & APT” 2017 organized by TECOS – Slovenian Tool and Die Development Centre, will take place from 24th to 26th April, 2017 in Ljubljana (Slovenia). The event is a renowned international scientific conference which has been organized every two years since 1997.
Japan was formally approved as ISTMA member in December 2016. The Japanese Die & Mould Association – JaDMA based in the city of Tokyo with offices in Nagoya and Osaka has become the newest ISTMA member.
Iran was formally approved as ISTMA member in December 2016. The Iranian Society of Tool Makers – ISTM, based in the city of Teheran, has become the newest ISTMA World member.
For the third time, the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) in Industry and the Skilled Crafts at RWTH Aachen University has issued an invitation to attend the International Injection Moulding Conference, in short: IIMC 2017. The conference will be held in Aachen on March 15 - 16, 2017.
The Czech language was added to ISTMA Terminology. With the support from Svaz Nastrojaren – Czech Association – and its partners the existing terminology was translated and is now available on the web based service.
On November 3rd, the Canadian Tooling & Machining Association (CTMA) hosted a delegation from the JeonBuk Association for Mold & Die Industry, South Korea. Robert Cattle, from the CTMA, and Wendy Stark, from the Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corporation (WEEDC), hosted the delegation during their visit to Windsor, Ontario, Canada which included tours of four CTMA member companies.
